What are the custom variables?
The custom variables are considered those that are usually not part of the pre-selection of J+ track tracking plans or Jellyfish products.
How to add a custom variable?
After you have created your tracking plan, click on the "+" button, and you will arrive at the below screen
Then click on the button "Create variable" and then click on "Create a custom variable"
Then simply define this new custom variable by adding the:
In the Indicator keys section you will name the key of the event and the name of the event.
Once you name the key under the Indicator keys section, the Custom GTM names (Data `Layer Variable) will be filled automatically - but you can still edit it to a new value if necessary.
Under Indicator details: select the event the variable is going to be associated with along with the module and variable type.
In Variable implementation instructions, Datalayer Nesting sections - you can add more information for this custom variable.
After filling in all the information, click on “+ Add” and your variable will be added to the tracking plan associated with the right event.
