1: Create an Empty Tracking Plan:
The first step is to create an empty Tracking Plan (TP) in J+ Track. This TP serves as a placeholder for enabling monitoring. Simply create a new TP and leave it empty for now.
2: Request Client Consent:
Once the empty TP is created, navigate to the "Monitoring" section in J+ Track. Here, you can request consent from the client to enable monitoring on their website. It is essential to obtain explicit permission from the client before proceeding further.
3: Export the Monitoring-Only Container:
Once the client provides consent, you will be able to export the container with monitoring-only functionality. This container contains the necessary configurations for intercepting events on the client's website.
4: Import and Publish in GTM:
Export the monitoring-only container and import that into Google Tag Manager (GTM) for the client's website. Publish the container to make it active. This step ensures that the intercepted events are properly captured and sent for further analysis.
5: Intercept and Analyze Events:
With the monitoring functionality in place, the intercepted events from the client's website will be sent to BigQuery. In the J+ Track interface, you can access and analyze these events, gaining valuable insights into user behavior, conversions, and other important metrics.
6: Create a Tracking Plan (Optional):
If necessary, you can use the intercepted events as a basis for creating a tracking plan and related documents in J+ Track. This step enables you to formalize the tracking implementation and align it with the client's goals and objectives.
